Jody's Journal: My journey to live a Christ-like life
Hi my name is Jody May. I am the Owner of Christianity Connection.com and this is my story. I have battled issues with my weight almost constantly since I got out of the ARMY in 1994. So much so that it has become impossible for me to work in my field of expertise, or any other field and has caused me to become a virtual shut-in. Well that is about to change. I am placing my trust in God and my readers to help me on my journey to lose 200 pounds the healthy way. No surgery or miracle pills for me! Just good old fashioned hard work. And that is where you come in. All I ask is you pray for me, follow my progress and hold me accountable as I embark on this monumental "life and body changing" journey. I want to shrink my physical body as my "christ-like" life soars to new heights. So this is the part where I tell you about myself. I am 44 years young, 5'10 and I tend to stay away from scales but it is safe to say I weigh in at around 400 pounds. I am a recovering alcoholic and seem to have transferred my old drinking habits into new even worse eating habits. Sometimes going days with out eating at all and then eating until I feel sick. I have battled with depression, agoraphobia, and panic attacks for the last few years and quite frankly being this exposed is not something I am used to. I am not 100% sure how I feel about this yet, but since I can't seem to do this on my own, maybe this is the exact "kick in the pants" I need! I am placing my faith in God and the extraordinary power of prayer. I have posted a starting or "before" picture on here to show where I am now. As my progress dictates I will add updated photo's of my progress. So there it is! I am putting all the cards on the table. All you have to do is follow my journey. I am doing this as an attempt to literally save my life. Because I know if I don't do something about this now, I will die prematurely. Jody's Blog will be my way of finding the strength, encouragement, and willpower that I just can't seem to find within myself. Also it will be a way for me to get out what I am feeling instead of keeping everything bottled up inside.
