The "Founder" aka Jesus Christ

A lot of people credit Paul with being the Founder of Christianity. Although he was instrumental in starting the Church he was not the origin of the principal it is built on. It is told in the Bible that Jesus Christ is the driving force behind Christianity in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 where it says (1)Now let me remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then and still do now, for your faith is built on this wonderful message. (2)And it is this Good News that saves you if you firmly believe it- unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place. (3)I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me- that Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. (4) He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, as the Scriptures said. What that passage means is that it is very clear that Jesus is not only the reason for Christianity but that the religion started with his teachings while he was here on earth. The preceding passages were taken from the New Living Translation. Based on The Kings James version of the Bible it is in modern English for easy understanding and reading. Powerful and Historical words that clearly state the principals that Christianity is based on are the teachings and life of Jesus Christ. Making him the founder of the Christian religion.

Jesus Christ aka Jesus of Nazareth aka the Founder of Christianity (7-2BC to 26-36AD)is the figure on which all of Christianity is based. Born to a virgin (Mary)he is the incarnation of God. His earthly father (Joseph) was a carpenter. The first 4 Books of the New Testament "The Gospels" tell of the birth of Jesus and about his teachings here on Earth. Called "The Greatest Story Ever Told" Jesus' birth is told in Matthew 1:18-25. (18)Now this is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant by the Holy Spirit. (19)Joseph, her fianc'e, being a just man, decided to break the engagement quietly, so as not to disgrace her publicly. (20)As he considered this, he fell asleep, and an Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. "Joseph, son of David," the Angel said, "do not be afraid to go ahead with your marriage to Mary. For the child within her has been conceived by the Holy Spirit. (21) And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."(22)All of this happened to fulfill the Lord's message through his prophet: (23)"Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and he will be called Immanuel*(meaning, God is with us). (24)When Joseph woke up, he did what the Angel of the Lord commanded. He brought Mary home to be his wife, (25) but she remained a virgin until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus. Christians worldwide share this story especially around Christmas each year in an attempt to explain to their children the "true" meaning of this the most sacred of all religious holidays. The Bible doesn't mention a lot about Jesus as a child or teen. There are a lot of theories as to why, as for me, I think it is because his childhood just doesn't have historical relevance. Christianity is based on his teachings and everyone agrees that although Jesus had amazing religious knowledge his teachings didn't start until near the end of his time on earth. Here is a good resource to find different versions of the bible in English as well as 35 other languages. I highly recommend you check it out.

Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist before beginning his Ministry on earth and the story is told in Mark 1:9-11. (9)One day Jesus came for Nazareth in Galilee, and he was baptized by John in the River Jordan. (10)And when Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens split open and the Holy Spirit descending like a dove on him. (11)And a voice came from heaven saying, "You are my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with you." Immediately after being baptized Jesus was instructed to go into the wilderness and was tempted for forty days by Satan. Angels took care of him. Upon returning from the wilderness Jesus went to Galilee to preach God's Message. Mark 1:15-18 says (15)"At last the time has come!" he announced. "The Kingdom of God is near! Turn from your sins and believe this Good News!" (16)One day as Jesus was walking along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother, Andrew, fishing with a net, for they were commercial fishermen. (17)Jesus called out to them, "Come be my disciples, and I will show you how fish for people!" (18) And they left their nets at once and followed him. Jesus' journey to spread God's message had begun. It is this teaching that would become the foundation on which Christianity is built. During his preaching Jesus performed many miracles along with his teaching to show everyone the power and mercy of the one true God. It was because of his teachings and claims he was the Son of God that would lead to his eventual death at hands of the Romans. Mark 15:15 So Pilate, anxious to please the crowd, released Barabbas to them. He ordered Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip, then turned him over to Roman soldiers to crucify him. They did not understand that he was to be the founder of the one and only true religion. Just as Jesus had predicted he was crucified, buried, and 3 days later he rose. These facts are simple, true, undeniable, and make Jesus the founder and basis for Christianity. So there you have it. I hope this has been informative and you have a little better understanding of the Founder of Christianity: Jesus Christ.
